Annette M. N. Ferguson
Over the last 20 years, I have taught a variety of courses at the University of Edinburgh, including large first-year generalist courses, advanced courses on specialist topics, and practical courses on observational astronomy. Some recent courses and other University roles are highlighted below:

-
From 2021-2025, I co-taught the specialist course Astrophysics: Galaxies and Cosmology, which is designed for 4th year undergraduate majors. I delivered the module on the ISM, the Milky Way and Stellar Dynamics.
-
I was the Director of Internationalisation within the School of Physics and Astronomy from 2019-2024, a role which included recruitment activities, and the development of international partnerships and joint degrees.
-
I coordinated the Physics with Year Abroad degree programme and research placements from 2019-2023.
In addition, I usually supervise several undergraduate research projects (MPhys and Senior Honours) per year. Typical projects involve studies of the structure and stellar content of nearby galaxies, globular star clusters, stellar populations and gaseous nebulae.

Since 2024, I have designed and supervised summer projects that are offered as part of the Sutton Trust UK Summer Schools programme.
